EMF Equation Of DC Generator

According faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction, When a prime mover rotating the armature in the field of generator, an EMF is induced in it.
Let :
E = EMF induced in generator
P = No of Poles
Φ = Flux per pole in weber
N = Speed of armature rotation in RPM (N/60 RPS)
Z = Number of conductor in armature
A = Number of parallel path

EMF generated  = Emf generated in one parallel path cutting of flux per conductor in one revolution
Cutting of flux per conductor in one second = ΦPN/60 wb/sec
EMF generate per conductor = ΦPN/60 volts
EMF generated per path = ΦPN/60 x Z/A volt

In wave winding the number of parallel path are always two (A=2) so,
EMF generated per path = ΦPN/60 x Z/2 volt =    ΦZNP/120 volt

In Lap winding the number of parallel path are equal to no of parallel path (A=P) so,

EMF generated per path = ΦPN/60 x Z/P volt =    ΦZN/60 volt
